Scouting America, Sioux Council

Who We Are
Providing the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, helping young people be “Prepared. For Life,” Scouting America, Sioux Council has been providing programs that build character, train in responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develop personal fitness since 1927.

Sioux Council has helped build the future leaders of communities in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun and adventure. The Scouting America believes – and, through over a century of experience, knows – that helping youth is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Encompassing 61-counties in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa, Sioux Council provides direct service to over 2,500 registered youth and over 1,500 adult volunteers through Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturing, and Exploring.
